One of the best things about NYC is that you can have everything and anything delivered… now including crack candy thanks to Candy Crack Delivery Service. The crack candy (basically brightly colored rock candy) comes in 4 different flavors including blueberry, cotton candy, lime and original (sugar) and is delivered in 1 x 1 baggies for $1 a bag. I’m not sure which is creepier, the concept or the dude who actually delivers it… a 7-foot tall man in white gloves, a tuxedo, and a plush blue fish head.
The service is the brainchild of Nate Hill (the self-proclaimed “greatest artist of all time”), the creative director of Club Animals. He and his cohorts specialize in other original projects such as “Free Bouncy Rides“- where a person in a fish costume hangs out on a subway platform and offers his/her leg to bounce upon, and the “Mini Marathon” where several people dressed as animals run four laps around Union Square.
- Candy Crack Delivery Service – available on August 22nd, in the Greenpoint and Williamsburg areas of Brooklyn only
- Free Bouncy Rides – offered this Saturday, August 14th, from 10-11pm on the Union Square L train platform.
I LOVE NEW YORK CITY!!!
Guess what’s happening on October 25th? The Rock Paper Sissors World Championship in Toronto, Canada! This is one of the few “sports” everybody can get in on… so get in on it!
I dig the ‘viva la revolucion’ feel of the posters and the Dilbert-officiality (my blog, my word) of the RPS Society Web site, but the brand could definitely be improved upon. That would be a bad ass addition to any body’s portfolio. (hint hint) One thing that couldn’t get any better is the tag…
“Serving the needs of decision makers since 1918”
I wonder if there are Official Thumb Wars too?
Check out these stone ice cubes made of Nordic Rock. Nordic rock is mined from ancient Swedish pollution-free base rock. It is supposedly the purest way of cooling your drink because stones don’t melt which means your beverage wont get diluted with potentially unclean water. Dont you agree they look pretty hardcore… although eerily similar to a sugar cube of pumice stone? (Ew… sorry for that visual) If that wasn’t enough, they are also reusable which makes them all eco-friendly ‘n shit… so whats not to love?
Buy them here.
I want to hate this video… I really do. But I don’t.
Folk rocker Devendra Banhart casted his girlfriend Natalie Portman in the music video for his new single, “Carmensita.” The video is Bollywood-esque with silly special effects and cheeky subtitles. Prince of Hraminah (a.k.a. Devendra) must save Princess Carminsita Saplingita (a.k.a. Portman) with his “rebellious beard”, no less, from Lord Rajah The Malevolent (a.k.a. Jon Lovitz look-alike).
