sTori Telling

So last night was the first time I have ever attended a book signing.  Who, might you ask, was thrilling enough to pull me out to the Virgin Megastore in Union Square at 7pm?

Tori Spelling

I really just wanted to see her up-close… not actually meet her… and I could care less about her signature… but since I did genuinely want to read her book (don’t judge me but my guilty pleasures have also included Victoria Beckham‘s That Extra Half an Inch) it made sense… sorta!?!

My lack of fashion flare was glaring as I stood in line with some of SF’s best “Queens” but it was well worth the effort as it may have possibly been the best people watching of the last decade.  Important highlights include:

  1. Tori Spelling telling her semi-famous tranny impersonator, Suppositori Spelling, to “break a leg”
  2. A pan handler telling all of us, “I don’t even want to meet Tori any more after meeting her fans” (because nobody was giving him money)
  3. Some of the majorly cracked-out middle aged creeps who were actually SCALPING photos from her 90210 glory days while they discussed William Shatner’s upcoming book signing… Tori’s fans are trekkies!!!

I have to remind myself that I will never get those two hours of my life back… and I am happy to report that it is fine by me!
